GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation and replaces the previous Data Protection Act that was in place. It has been approved by the EU Parliament and comes into effect on 25th May 2018.
Below is what you need to know about the information we hold on you and we would like you to understand that Parkside View Nursery respects the information we have and take the security of personal information seriously.
GDPR states that any personal data that is held should be processed fairly and lawfully and collected only for specified and legitimate purposes and that individual’s data is not processed without their knowledge and only done so with consent. Parkside View Nursery is committed to protecting the rights of individuals with respect to the processing of children’s, parents, visitors and staff’s personal data.
The data protection act gives individuals the right to know what information is held about them and to ensure that personal information is handled properly.
Parkside View Nursery holds information on paper copies of children’s names, parents’ names, emergency contact information, date of birth, copies of birth certificates and address which is on the registration form which you fill out once your child starts our setting.
This is also a requirement from Ofsted and the Local Authority for monitoring and auditing purposes for Free Early Education Entitlement.
These records are kept locked away, me and the staff have access to these but any information taken from the files is confidential and these files are kept on site at all times. Information is used in case of an emergency where we need to be able to get hold of you or your emergency contact.
Other forms of data that the nursery holds are the daily register with your child’s name and date of birth.
Access to the office computer and Tapestry Online Learning Journal is password protected where parents all have access to their own child’s data only and will be held there until they leave.
Parkside View Nursery web site does not use cookies to hold data on our site.
Pictures that are used on the web site are with the consent of the parent’s permission as this is asked as part of the registration form.
You can request for your child to be removed at any time by speaking with the nursery manager.
